This week I returned to ISM after a long-awaited break. The break definitely helped me better identify where I wanted to go and what I wanted to accomplish this semester. And in order to attain the goal of having five interviews by the end of the next week, I had to re-immerse myself into the interview process. It wasn't as though I hadn't been thinking about interviews in the last few weeks, but I have been doing it much lighter than I was prior to getting the first three interviews. With the new deadline I definitely have to push myself again and look back into the research I had done and actually start making the phone calls rather than continuing to research numbers.

Though re-immersing myself into the getting interviews of various doctors was incredibly exhilarating, it definitely did provide to be more difficult the second time. The first time I had more prospects so I was able to schedule my three interviews with effort but attainability. However, now there are even less people to schedule appointments with which requires more research into where I should be calling rather than the actual process of calling. I was incredibly excited when I saw a doctor at Children's Health in Plano that specifically did fetal heart Imaging because that was something very close to what I wanted to do in the future. When I called they took my name and I was able to leave a message for the doctor but they have not called back and it's been a week. This proved to be another burden because due to the fact that I valued this specific doctor so high, it became somewhat difficult to look into other possible mentors because I'm still set on this one being my mentor.Yet I know I will still keep calling and making sure that I have exhausted every possible place of interview before deciding on my mentor.

All this week I definitely was able to get myself back on the lookout for various interviews and mentorship opportunities. I truly believe that I have found someone who I would be more than honored to work with as a mentor, who seems attainable and that it is neither too far, nor is too acclaimed of a doctor. I truly hope that that I won't be able to study under the fetal heart surgeon doctor but I know that I cannot be too close-minded on such a topic and will need to be open to all types of doctors who may be able to accept my offer to be under the mentorship of them.
